OZL#ONE is now sponsored by Steelseries! How kind?
They have contributed five items as prizes and a bunch of posters. I hope to recieve these soon.

Additionally I have also been a little cheeky and asked for a few bonus items such as keyrings, stickers, t-shirts, hats and such...lets wait and see what they chuck in the box!

Enermax have turned us down for sponsorship as they are no longer sponsoring LAN Parties.

Thanks for your interest in Enermax. I am sorry to say that we have to deny your request. At the moment we decided to stop LAN party sponsoring and to concentrate on other activities. But you are welcome to contact us again next year.

We wish you all the best for the organisation and realisation of your LAN party project.
Oh well, you win some, you lose some!

SteelSeries came through with the goods as promised, which were delivered just the other day. I now have a huge tube of posters and Glide MS's for the event.

Thanks SteelSeries, you're the man!

AMD / ATI sponsor LAN parties too, and even offer a nice little guide full of suggestions on how best to organise them =]

Not sure if they do UK parties or US only, but methinks it's something to look into if it's possible in this kinda timeframe.

I tried contacting Intel a few years back with no avail. Possibly instead of going directly for companies who make the gear, try online stores, like ebuyer, overclockers etc, see if they're able to support the lan.

I have approached AMD/ATI, however they, like pretty much all the other companies I have tried have not, as yet, replied.

However, given that this is our first event I am not surprised... at this point we have nothing to make them really sit up and take notice of us.

AMD/ATI did jump on board with KernowLAN's last event, but as far as I can recall offered nothing in the way of prizes, just posters and such.

I have been trying this also, however it is often difficult to get hold of the right people to talk to about it.
Most companies that are prepared to offer sponsorships for these kind of events already have a form set up on their websites, those that don't are unlikely to bother unless you appeal to the right person within the company, and that's the stumbling block...who is that right person?

Emails have been sent to many, however I expect they have likely been consigned to the bin because that haven't reached the inbox of the person they need to be seen by.

Would you like me to try on behalf of San Ozzel to get any sponsors or free gear for the event?

The same way you would, draft a proposal letter with a catchy title, give a little background, ask for small stuffs to be given away as goodie prizes and for stuff to promote their company, see if they can donate "larger" prizes for the competitions.

Thats fair enough.
An who would you send your letters too? Most LAN Party's can only apply for sponsorship via online app forms btw, but you can go for it.
Make sure replies are sent to me though, so I can keep an eye on things. I'll PM you my contact details if you like?
